Senior Messaging Design Engineer (Cluj-Napoca)

The Senior Messaging Design Engineer - Workforce Productivity Solutions is the expert and advocate for employee Unified Communications Tools and Platforms across the enterprise, including Microsoft Exchange, WebEx and Jabber Unified Communications suite, and email security hardening services including Spam Filtering, Malware detection, DMARC, DKIM and SPF.This role facilitates the optimization of business performance by providing leadership, direction and best practices in the deployment, updates, and use of Unified Communications platforms and applications that support key business processes. Thoroughly understanding of these requirements, this role will continually enhance and augment the core capabilities of the technologies to drive a best in class solution that results in increased employee productivity and an improved Employee Experience.

The Senior Messaging Design Engineer is responsible for the overall design of our client's Unified Communication platforms, development of operational best practices and procedures, knowledge sharing, design and development of deployment practices and cadence, as well as development of support processes to be used by Tier 1, 2, and 3 support teams. This person collaborates with Solution Managers and the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer to execute Solution strategies.

The Senior Messaging Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert who will have sufficient knowledge to recommend, consult and guide any level of the business in the deployment, security, use and/or troubleshooting of the tools and platforms available.


Backend SaaS Release Management
- Manage the construction, availability and configuration of the test environments
- Test and document results of feature releases, bug fixes, and security releases
- Coordinate with Information Security and Data Governance teams to ensure solution configurations maintain the appropriate posture and compliance
- Design and document the most appropriate Transition Plan for the successful implementation of new services and major upgrades to existing platforms
- Actively participate in formal change management processes and represent Workforce Productivity Solutions on our client's Change Advisory Board
- Manage communications and distribution to proper stakeholders of changes, updates, and deployments of updated versions.

UC Application Release Management (i.e. Jabber, WebEx tools, etc.)
- Test feature releases, bug fixes, and security releases
- Lead the initial evaluation of updated versions for application First Release candidates, and share with Early Adopters group.
- Maintain list of Early Adopters for first release updated application versions for the enterprise
- Survey early adopters to understand and address any discrepancies prior to production deployment
- Collaborate with LanDesk software distribution administrators to share and understand the processes and content of both the Early Adopters and General Availability of the client software packages to be deployed to the end user
- Manage communications and distribution to proper stakeholders of changes, updates, and deployments of updated versions.

Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures
- Evaluate business requirements and fully understand and document risks associated with onboarding and exiting the platforms
- Perform testing to validate methodologies outlined in the Transition Plan
- Manage the execution of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures as it pertains to transitions to and from the platforms

Security and Compliance
- Consult with the office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to drive compliance with cutting edge security measures that assure freedom to operate
- Serve as the subject matter expert for mail protection technologies including gateway services, Spam and Malware filtering, DMARC, DKIM and SPF

Ongoing Support
- Create new processes and identify opportunities to improve current processes for successful Solution support models
- Develop and maintain operations and support documentation to share with Tiers 1 through 3 and local Desk Side Support levels
- Distribute process and support documentation to Tiers 1 through 3 and local Desk Side Support operations teams as needs are identified

- 3+ years experience with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook client
- 5+ years experience with any combination of Microsoft server-side platforms
- Experience with security hardening approaches and their impact to the mail enterprise
- Strong working knowledge of Exchange-oriented interactions with Microsoft Messaging Technology concepts, including ActiveSync, AutoDiscover, DAG, RBAC, PowerShell, DLP, E-Discovery, OAB, Legal Hold, EAC, Exchange client protocols, Exchange Server Roles, DNS, IIS, AD, and SSO.
- Bachelors of Business Administration, Computer Sciences, or related field preferred
- Extensive Experience with Cisco and/or Microsoft Unified Communications applications that deliver enriched web conferencing and Instant Messaging services
- Experience with Customer Service, Technical Support, and an understanding of the User Experience
