Cloud Operations Engineer

What You ll Do:

• Responsible for managing the applications and infrastructure hosted in the cloud environments – IBM or Azure
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues pertaining to the hosted application. Responsible in ensuring proper security controls are in place.
• Responsible for provisioning and de-provisioning customers; Ensure that 99.9% application SLA is met.
• Support the deployment of new releases to the production environments. Responsible for regular backups of the environments and applications. Plan and conduct annual DR tests.
• Collaborates effectively with various stakeholders within the company regarding cloud initiatives and activities to understand current business needs, anticipate and plan for future strategic direction.
• Develop metrics for cloud infrastructure and software components. Establish dashboards for monitoring metrics and key performance indicators.
• Participate in the SOC audits and ensure that all audit controls are adhered to.
• Able and willing to provide on-call duty.

What You’ll Need:

• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and IBM cloud/Softlayer.
• Experience managing Single Tenant and Multi-Tenant SaaS applications is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with computer networks, network administration, network installation and protocols (DNS, Firewalls, Load balancers, Switches, wireless, VPNs, DHCP, SMTP, routing protocols, etc).
• Hands-on knowledge in IT related fields including Microsoft applications administration, Microsoft .NET framework, SQL server, active directory, virtualization management, LAN and WAN technologies. Microsoft certifications preferred, but not required.
• Strong scripting skills required.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all production environments.
• Experience rolling out new technologies and creating early adopter programs.
• Experience in the below are preferred, but not required

o Containers
o Log Management Tools (Splunk, Loggly etc.)
o Configuration Management Tools (Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.)
o Penetration testing, Vulnerability scanning

Education: Bachelor s degree, Master s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications or closely-related discipline.

o Ability to balance multi-task and multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
o Must be a team player willing to make every effort to make the team a success.
o Strong and effective written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.

• Must have strong diagnostic and problem solving ability.

o Strongly prefer startup experience working in a dynamic, fast paced work environment.
