The purpose of the position is to lead and manage the Research Platforms digital team, as well as contribute to the overall management of the ICT unit within the company.
The mandate of the Research Platforms digital team includes the following components:
Design, build and maintain technology platforms that automate and optimize the research processes
Source, curate and maintain the data that is used as basis of their research, or that is integrated into their products
Contribute in designing/building new research methodologies and products (through data mining, data science & statistics)
Research Platforms portfolio leadership
Three digital products under management
At least 3 product managers/owners and 3 quality assurance engineer direct reports
Two teams (10-12 developers) assigned to the portfolio/indirect reports
Part of the ICT Senior Management team (along with other senior product managers, head of UX and head of software development)
Oversee products in portfolio, including planning, scheduling, managing and progress reporting
High-level stakeholder and expectations management, including Research and Client Facing units
Establish overall priorities and work with the senior ICT management team to facilitate product prioritization and use of resources within their domain
Hands on lead responsibility for at least one of the teams products (not just a leader, but a doer too)
Partner with VP of ICT to set direction and strategy for products to be developed within the market domain
Contribute to the preparation of strategic and operational plans for the ICT unit to ensure that all necessary ICT platforms, processes and people are in place to meet the requirements of the business and contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term goals of the Company.
Ensures continuous operation and cost-efficiency of the digital platforms under management.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology infrastructure in line with Company growth plans, and changing business requirements or technological advancements.
Contribute to software development and engineering expertise to bear on the conceptualization and planning of digital products for the disciplines
Work with the Architecture team members to integrate the disciplines product roadmaps with the overall technology roadmap
Min 10 years professional experience
Technical degree (computer engineering), supplemented with business degree (or equivalent qualifications)
Strong understanding of digital product management, software design and development. Minimum of 5 years product management experience in an upstream role such as systems analyst, business analyst, product owner, product manager or portfolio manager
Solid management experience: demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams and develop team cohesiveness
Cultural and ethical sensitive, widely traveled
Strong product management skills: product roadmap definition, requirements gathering, scoping and describing features, product rollout, stakeholder management Leadership and team builder, ability to work across functional teams
Living or willing to move to one or our major offices Excellent command of English
Understanding of emerging technology developments and how to use them to solve problems Understanding of the structure of software products and functional architectural interdependencies
Experience in digital software definition, planning, development and roll-out
Experience leading cross-functional teams of product owners and quality assurance engineers
Experience with and leading geographically dispersed teams
Ability to drive multiple, critical initiatives at strategic & tactical levels across the portfolio
